Blog came from Web Log.
Did you all know what? Probably but you might of forgotten. We live in exciting times, so much is happening in the world and there’s so many tools available to us to document everything… EVERYTHING.Â
random movie quote “Give them nothing! But take from them everything!” -Â from the movie 300
Evan Williams, know him? He’s the guy that popularized the concept of blogging. I read an article about him half a year ago. He created blogger.com which is now owned by google.com. His current successful project is twitter.com I’m sure all of you internet savvy guys and gals have one or has heard about it. If not then it’s basically a blog BUT with really short messages (140 characters) to tell people what you’re doing, like a SMS/Text for your mobile phone, but it lives on a website.
I started an account two nights ago, not sure how I feel about it, a huge invasion of privacy? A pointless application? I don’t think it’s either but I’ll keep going at it for at least a little while.
Would it even be something you guys are interested in?

I’ve gotten into the habit of writing diaries when I was in elementary school when blogging didn’t exist. Blogging just makes everything so convenient to have all your stuff in one place rather than 10 books that might risk getting exposed when my brothers find it and read it out-loud…now that’s an exposure of privacy!! At least you can put a password to the ones online…and you can restrict the audience to public or private
I think it’s pretty cool to share things with others

p.s. Have you guys ever thought of using Viddler (http://www.techzulu.com/viddler-is-top-notch-for-self-branding.html) to host your videos on your own site??

Okay I went and checked this twitter thing out (bare with me cause I’m slightly an oldhead). I have to admit it seems like way too much of an invasion of privacy. Do folks seriously need to know what I’m doing every minute of the day? Plus my family is old school. My mother barely knows how to use a computer. Half the time I can’t remember to update myself let alone half the net. Hmm, I think I’ll pass, but you all have tons of fun!

I hardly ever use mine b/c I’m too lazy to log in and update it when really, I can just do the same sort of thing on facebook (you know that status update thing?)

Blogs are a bit impersonal in my Opinion. Its missing that one to one connection with friends =( i prefer to keep my friends updated on a more individual level =) Its more exciting for me =D

I have way too many places that I am blogging/updating right now. I’m a private journal girl myself, so I have a select few friends that I journal with on LiveJournal (I feel so old for having an LJ, I’m not hip, I’m totally square). If I did have a twitter, it would probably go silent for long stretches at a time.
