This is me messing around with Garageband at 1am. I’m not totally sure if I’m using it correctly, but I know that my computer is making sounds…so, that’s at least right.
Why am I playing w/ garageband? Because I hafta make some quick “original” music. Why am I attempting to be original and make music? Because it’s for a short that’s due in two days. “Due you say? Due to who?”Â
Well, most of the content we make is for ourselves, and we set our own deadlines of when we want them to be completed, so most of the time…we set our own due dates. Â But that’s not the case of this upcoming piece.
Here’s the skinny… The American Cancer Society hired this Asian ad agency to do an anti-smoking campaign targeted at young Asian Americans. This ad agency contacted Wong Fu Productions asking us to make a short for the campaign, knowing that a lot of young people (primarily asian) watch our stuff. We here at Wong Fu are down with this…no smoking thang, so we agreed. Unfortunately, we gotta play by their schedule. Â The video is due Tuesday. We sorta had to rush on this one, but I think we’ll make it. Â Look out for this new short on Tuesday, or around then. =P It’s a pretty simple one, but gets the point across. Smoking = blech!

sigh, back to Garageband. Â I knew I shoulda paid more attention in my piano theory lessons when I was younger. Â Then I’d remember all this tempo/measure/transposing stuffz. HEY WES AND TED! CAN YOU HEAR THIS TRACK UPSTAIRS?? TELL ME IF IT SOUNDS AUGMENTED OR HARMONIC!*
*no idea what I’m talking about.
*edit: Yes, I am a tad sunburnt. Was playing Ultimate in the morning, didn’t wear sunscreen. foolishfoolish me

woot woot! Ultimate, piano, composing…you’re amazing. At least you know how to use Garageband…I’ve attempted it at school, but was too hard since I have NO musical background at all…I’m not giving up though

I think that’s great for you guys to be helping with a anti-smoking campaign. Educating others about the hazards of cigarette smoking is helpful, but trying to change someone’s behavior is very challenging. I look forward to seeing the video.

LOL. I actually know what harmonic and augmented mean. …sorta. I failed at CM music theory stuff. XD Which is why I’m not taking AP Music Theory… >_>;

Hmm. There are so many Australians here. I’ll add to that. Australian citizen living in SoCal, but here’s the kick, I’ve never actually lived in Austrlia.
Thank you mother for being an Australian citizen that lived there 3+ years so I could be able to be Australian too!
Anyways, I guess we all know what you will be working on tonight. Ah, the joys of procastination. It’s great that you guys are taking such a positive role in the community, but what else could we expect from Nice Guys like you?

lol..you had this blog tagged under yogurt..awesomness, anyway I agree with you guys on the whole smoking = blech thing X_X I live here in Canada and I just hope they’re finally passing that law about banning smoking outside of places like coffee shops *thank goodness b/c I work in one*..buhbye noxious fumes =]

good luck on finishing it up on time! ^^;; it’s a good thing that you guys are against smoking, way too many people are doing it these days and you guys would make a big impact on others with your creative shorts. ive seen so many asians, including old friends, that are starting to smoke and thats seriously a bad sign. :[ cant wait to see it and show it to a bunch of my friends. oh yea, frozen yogurt is awesome. ♥

so not attracitve. Maybe its a stress relieve for ya’ll out there in the motherland but I ain’t buying it. You may have to go to the army by the time you are 18 to build character…but still. dude. you smell like a chimminey.
I prefer the manly smell of SOAP! and no weirdo body spray or after shave….woo. too much chemical imabalance. Thanks for speaking out to the asian community on smoking.
