For those that don’t know yet, there is a Dragon ball movie coming out but there’s a couple of things I can’t quite put my finger on, something just doesn’t look right…
oh yeah Goku looked more Asian in the anime.  I’m just going to leave it at that, I wrote a couple of paragraphs but then decided to delete it. Anyways here’s the Trailer for it:
While on the same genre of movies, there’s also going to be another Street Fighter movie coming out The Legend of Chun Li. Kristin Kreuk from Smallville will be playing the role of Chun Li, you can find out more about it here.
Yes, both of these are Kung-Fu flicks. Hmmmm I am not surprised because movie studios tend to target 14 year old boys (did you know that?) looking at both these movies it looks like they are right on target.

oh but forgot to say… DUDE! The Jackie Chan video! lolz and I TOTALLY remember watching that on television as a kid. That was like my favorite Chinese movie until I saw “Ultimate Bra” lolz ^^

I feel as though Hollywood is getting WAY to into Asian stuff… And they’re just killing Asian movies or Asian based movies. I mean… They already killed “The Eye” which was an awesome movie in 2002 when it came out in Cantonese but I heard as it came out in the states remade it wasn’t that good.
I still don’t know if I would want to see either movie. It feels very awkward knowing that this movie lacks almost any Asian actors/actresses.

son-goku is actually not asian. just like vegeta. they happen to be aliens that even turn to super-saiya-jin having blonde (oh well… golden… to me that’s blonde…) hair and blue eyes.
i just don’t like the thought of a real life dragonball movie. it’ll never be able to hold a candle on the real manga and they wouldn’t do it anyway if dragonball didn’t have that reputation. it’s all about the money…
but if you ask me: even though the saiya-jin are non-asian characters in the movie i’d still rather see an asian cast if there has to be a real life cast anyway…
still they could’ve tried to not screw dragonball by making an anime movie that was not animated as bad as the dragonball series. but nobody will ever come to that toriyama status though -_-°

honestly? i was shocked when i heard that… in my opinion there could be nothing less necessarry than a rl dragon ball movie and they already have planned 3 including the saiya-jin saga… i can’t believe they’re doing this to vegeta…

Wow, theyre missing the point of dragonball. It’s almost bringing a shame upon the original anime. *sigh* Piccolo actually looks human, Bulma has guns, and Yamcha is actually doing something?! What about Krillin?!

Add to the reasons why Hollywood sucks, the fact that Asian actors/actresses need more dynamic characters and less stereotypical ones. It would be nice if there were more actors/actresses like Sandra Oh, who gets parts that could have been played by a person of any other ethnicity.

i’ve known about the dragonball movie for like a year because one of my favorite korean celebrities ever is going to be in it
he’s the one playing yamcha
he had a small role in speed racer too (with Rain)
I dunno if u guys have heard of them, but he was a member of the boy group g.o.d.
they were epic back in the day (like 5 years ago xD)- went double platinum or something, but now they’re in hiatus
not so well known overseas though
but yeah, the movie looks ehh

LOL, i agree with wes- he just doesnt look like a goku. also wasnt goku’s hair way bigger and more crazy? :T all of these asian roles are being taken by non asian ones, thats not right. in this case, i think that asians playing the roles would have more money coming in but no- hollywood doesnt think so. =.= on kristen kreuk playing chun li, i guess its alright since shes half asian but still. oh and the jackie chan video was just wow, him playing chun li was kinda scary. :X

And I wonder if 14 year old teenage boys even know what Street Fighter is anymore? 10 years since SFIII, and SFIV is only out in arcades so far. Lol. Don’t forget there’s a terrible looking Tekken movie coming out…

i’m seriously having a dilemma of whether i should watch dragonball movie or not…
from the looks of the trailer… it’s just going to ruin my idealistic vision of how a dragonball movie should be~

yes, many anime characters are not asian… but goku is ><
next thing you know~ they’ll do a remake of Death Note with Zac Efron as L (for those of you know what i’m hinting about… HAHAHA) (for those of you don’t… it’s not real)

And we have yet to see Asians cast in what should clearly be Asian roles. For example, in the movie 21, no one knew that the real life MIT students who started the club were actually Asian. I wonder if Hollywood will every change – rather, the American public. Because let’s face it, it’s all about money and Asians simply won’t roll in the cash like Caucasian actors will.

Old school Street Fighter rocks my kasbah!! I used to kick serious tuchus in that game. No one could beat me as Dhalsim or Chun Li.
The only game I slightly feel the same way for now is Soul Calibur.

What I want to know is how they’re going to justify his name as “Goku”
He looks more like a…Fred. Which, no offense, just doesn’t have the proper ring to it. Fred vs. Piccolo? I picca Piccolo.
