The last few days have been ridonculously busy. 3 events in a row. Cornell on Friday, Brooklyn Tech yesterday, and NYU today. Sorry it’s been spotty on the blog lately, but hope you can understand. Got some down time tonight so I think I’ll play catch up.
Last Monday when we were still in Florida, we had a free day, and a group of some of the organizers were awesome enough to take us to Disneyworld in Orlando. Apparently not a lot of people know that Disneyworld is like, 5 different parks, all separate (and supposedly the size of San Francisco…crazy huh?) So it’s not just one big Disneyland on steroids. The park we went to was Magic Kingdom which is basically like the Disneyland in LA. (in hindsight I sorta wish we went to a different park…but I guess that means I’ll hafta go back again someday =D) Shot out to Ada for the getting us in for free!
I think my favorite thing about Disney parks is the music that is being played throughout the park. Wherever you go, there’s music in the background making me feel Disney-y and enchanted-y and magic-y.
I’ve been to Disneyworld once when I was in 3rd grade, don’t remember much. It was Ted’s first time so he got a special pin. Wes has been there a few times for his robotics team. spoiled nerd.
Since it was a Monday, and it’s not summer, all the lines were superrrr short. I think the longest we waited was 30 min for…Splash Mountain. It wasn’t hot either, and it wasn’t crowded w/ screaming babies and kids, and parents screaming back at them. (I really don’t think I’m going to take my kids to a d-land/world until they’re at least 8…or 40 inchs tall). Funny thing tho is that, sometimes the photo opps are just as fun as the rides…and those don’t involve waiting. OH NO! Emperor Zurg!
And so, after a day of getting our full of Disney-ness, and getting full off turkey legs, it was time to go. But of course, we stayed for the fireworks show. I don’t think anyone can honestly say they don’t like this part the best! I mean, colored explosives in the sky, paired with inspiring music…sigh, it really gets me mushy inside. A final thanks to Vanessa, Pamela, Jonny, Ken, Bowie, Tiffany, Sam, Yoonie, Yoosie, and Evan for being awesome buddies and getting their Disney on w/ us! Hope we’ll be back again someday.

Since I live in Florida, whenever you guys have the chance to visit Florida again, you all should definitely visit Universal Studios – Islands of Adventure (Orlando). They have insane rollercoasters: Hulk, Dueling Dragons, and other fun rides. Also if you have the chance, head to Busch Gardens (Tampa). They have some pretty sick rides. I hope you all really enjoyed Florida.

aww, such memories you guys have. its been years since ive been at disneyworld, i didnt get a pin like ted D: the posed zurg picture is adorable, wes looks like hes suffering and embarassed :X ted is just having some fun and you’re giving zurg the look. i wish we were able to go into the castle but i could only see it from afar :[ gosh wes is so lucky to have been able to go several times with his robotics team, so smart so young, and you were able to go previously although you dont recall much.
well at least you guys got to go recently and ted went his first time!

I want to go to Disney World! I never get to go somewhere far… I think I’ll end up taking lots and lots of pictures. I will make an attempt to go on the rides but I think I’ll be too scared and chickened out.

This is all good to know. I’ll be heading to Disney World for the first time in Dec. If I don’t get a pin like Ted, I’ll be quite disappointed. Plan on hitting up Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
