Was at Las Vegas this past weekend for a friend’s birthday. Stayed at the new Palazzo, was quite impressed. Headed next door to Wynn for their buffet on Saturday afternoon. What follows will only depress you…
I HAD NO APPETITE!! $35 for a lunch buffet at one of the nicest hotels on the strip in a city KNOWN for glorious buffet-gorging…sigh, and I could only stomach a couple plates. The following picture is my 3rd plate. After my 2nd plate, friends were forcing me to go and get more. I walked back and forth sluggishly for several minutes, and this is what I came back with. Creme fraiche, and a scoop of mashed potatoes. <buries head in hands>.
Wes didn’t do much better. He also had no appetite. Yes, that is a lonely bowl of soup. Doesn’t it look like he’s about to cry? We definitely did not perform at our best.
What’s worse…2 hours later, we were soooo hungry.
BAH!

While this subject may be extremely touchy for plenty of people, my opinion is that there should be a middle or common ground that we all can discover. I do appreciate that you’ve additional relevant and intelligent commentary here though. Thank you!

hope you enjoyed everything else, though. AHHH IT’S THAT ENCORE HOTEL! I only found out about it yesterday because I have been away from society for quite a while (which means I was at university). the Wynn looks stunning…and then look behind it…oh…it’s something that looks almost like Wynn…except it’s not. booo….how upsetting!

*gasps* :O its okay, at least you got to eat some of it and taste what las vegas buffets have to offer. i still think you guys should have eaten a bunch while you were at the buffet even if you didnt have much of an appetite and kinda “stored” it for later? xP gosh your 3rd plate looks so empty and clean, mine would have been filled and everything. wes does look like hes wiping a tear, feels sad about not being able to finish the food and soup? :T well i hope you guys had fun at your friend’s party.

My attack plan for buffets is to have a pre-buffet meal. For me, I gotta get my appetite going before I can down an insane amount of food. But even then, my max is 3 plates because buffet plates are humongo. But the picture makes me laugh a little, you look like you’re really struggling with a plate that’s only a quarter full. =)
Don’t worry my friend, it wasn’t all for naught. Buffets aren’t only about eating all that you can eat, you also pay for having access to so many different types of cuisine.

I would be hoping for a little more exciting and scandalous Los Vegas blog guys… I mean even if you didn’t gamble away all your money and fall for treacherous women, you should at least SAY you did. I mean otherwise you missed the whole point of the city! (or so I’m told)

I totally feel your pain. For lunch today I went to my most favoritest sushi restuarant ever. I got like 4 orders of 6 to 8 rolls. But I only touched like 6 to 8 rolls. That was horrible. All of that sushi I couldn’t eat! (cries)At least my coworkers were able to kill it for me.

lol Meh if there’s no appetite then there’s no need in forcing it in b/c you won’t enjoy it and you won’t digest it anyways…eating is a huge part of our life and we better make it enjoyable
better to waste food than to waste ourselves…besides sometimes expensive food doesn’t mean it’s any better than others…I love instant noodles although it’s really unhealthy…if it’s healthy, i’d eat it everyday but since it’s not… *tears* only once in a blue moon…

awww.. it’s prob cuz your friends have normal fooding times, whereas you guys prob eat a lot later than normal meal times.. cuz u guys don’t sleep til the sun is rising.. but im like that too, it’s 2pm now and i just had brunch.. at least you guys got to take a break from work and go to vegas!
