Did you know there are international versions of the game show Deal or no Deal?  The image above is from the Singapore version… with Asian ladies *grin*.  I’m going to keep this simple, I don’t want to get into the logic or philosophy behind gift giving.  I just want the cold hard facts.  Here’s my game show:  CASH OR That ugly sweater that I saw you looking at 6 months ago that I thought you liked but weren’t sure but I need to get you something so I think I’m going to get that for you for Christmas.

*Disclaimer: I meant this POLL to be for Friends and Family gift exchanges.  If you have a girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband/romantic partner you better get them STUFF don’t ever try CASH or NOTHING, trust me*

  1. I think there should be a way to purchase the gift card online and print it so that the intended recipient could receive it quickly. I had to wait four or five days to receive the card by snail mail and spend another couple of days to send it to the recipient. Maybe there is such a feature as instant reception/printing but I missed it.

  2. hehe Greetings from Singapore! Merry Xmas Ted, Wes n Phil! Love u guys! :)

  3. From friends and people that knows me well. Gifts is good. If it’s ppl that really don’t know what they want to get me gift card or cash is okay. I enjoy going thru the process of finding the right gift even though it can be a headache sometimes. I was away from my friend this Christmas, I have to give them their gifts after Christmas.

  4. Hmmmm I want to be that host for Deal-or-No-Deal Singapore!!! =D Merry Christmas WFP!

  5. most deff stuff. i think picking out stuff for people is fun..even though shopping at the last minute could result in getting run over for that last “christmas blow-out sale”..

  6. I love giving gifts. Sometimes it hurts my head too much form thinking of the perfect gift. But lucky for me, I think I got everything right this year. I got my friend a really awesome shirt but it was a M when I needed a S. So yesterday I drove 2 hours to the vendor’s house to get a small. x_x But yes. I think it’s worth it to see the smile on your friend’s and family’s face when they open it. And I’m talking about a real smile, not the fake one. :P

I hope you guys have a great Christmas with your family!!

  7. It’s just landed on Christmas Day here in New Zealand. The first place in the world to get Christmas (excluding Antarctica). So Merry Christmas to Wong Fu! You guys are amazing!

Oh, and definitely cash. Mainly because I don’t want much, or if I do it’s usually something ridiculous like a top of the line Mac or a video camera that costs thousands. So I like getting cash. And spending it on food. Yum.

  8. hehe my family, especially my mom loves deal or no deal and Howie! Howie actually went to diff countries and did an around the world deal or no deal not too long ago with that coutries’ DOND host :)
    Happy Holidays!

  9. you know what i got from my exboyfriend last christmas?
an extension cord. for $5. he left the tag on it.
i was so disappointed.. cuz i spent $30 on him for a cookbook.

  10. Hehe, whoops, voted on the wrong thing.. =/ Oh well! Making stuff is the best!

  11. I prefer cash, had too many Christmases that Ive gotten something I never wore or used. Very few people can get things that I will actually use or wear so for those ppl they can get me stuff :)

Sometimes I dont know what I want (like this year when my mom asked me for my wishlist….which I stopped making maybe years ago lol) so I told her just to give me money, and it saves her a hassle in trying to figure out what to get me.

    Merry Christmas EVE!!!!

  12. honestly I don’t mind as long as I get something. =P stuff is nicer if it looks valuable, but if I was going to get candy I’d really rather get the cash. Yes, I am selfish and money loving.

on a side note I got the one days DVD in the mail today 8D awesome christmas eve present, thanks guys. like the sticker you included =P

  13. My aunt and my parents were actually on Deal or No Deal, the Philippines’ version haha.

  14. I’m all about giving gifts all year around instead of too many things on one day. I’m not really big on the holidays HOWEVER, I would be happy to recieve the first season of Deal or No Deal: Singapore Version :)

  15. I don’t really expect people to spend a lot of time thinking about what to get for me (heck, most of my friends are students, so I don’t expect anything much at all), but I do enjoy plotting–err, thinking of something nice to get someone else. :)

  16. I gave out a lot of presents this year but I only received a sweater so far…D: and today was the last day before Christmas Break so I guess no more presents from my friends whom I spent…..a lot on =[

  17. there’s a “deal or no deal” in malaysia too. oh wait, there’s two of ‘em…one in mandarin and another in english!
