Do you listen to Cpop, Kpop or Jpop? (Chinese pop music, Korean pop music or Japanese pop music) I used to a lot more but nowadays since I’ve stopped using bittorrent (ie stopped illegally downloading music) because I just don’t have the time to do that anymore my exposure to them has diminished. I pretty much just listen to whatever is on the radio, unfortunately for me all they play these days is lil wayne and they might as well be playing the brown note because it would have the same affect on me. I do enjoy hearing what you guys have to say so answer this poll for me:

I listen to mostly C-pop and J-pop. I love F.I.R., Jay Chou, Fahrenheit, Nan Quan Mama, Stephanie Sun, Y2J, Does, Do As Infinity, and Gackt. I am a Chinese American and I barely listen to American music because most of it is too simple/boring for my taste. There are a few exceptions like Josh Groban, Matchbox Twenty, Gavin DeGraw and Lady Gaga. C-pop and J=pop are still far superior to any American music.

I like the fact they you (not sure about Phil and Wes) listen to Asian music. I lived in the US for 4 years, and met a Korean girl who, a little too obsessively, wants to marry an American guy. Just so she can be an American citizen and she hates anything to do with Asian culture (or just anything Asian – so sad).

J-Pop? Listen to a little bit of Ayumi Hamasaki, and that’s about it. J-Rock? Used to listen to some Gackt and Nightmare but grew out of it and moved to experimental Mathcore. Ahahahaha.
Jay Chou and JJ Lin are both good too.

I used to listen to J-pop all the time in H.S. but sometime during college I just sorta stopped listening to it. My old cube-mate used to listen to C-pop all the time so when I went to karaoke I actually recognized a couple of the songs my friends sang!

My loyalties lie with kpop music only. I may not be able to understand a single word uttered, but when you see the korean music videos, you know what I’m talking about.
Korean ladies just have that flawless look. Must be due to all that plastic surgery?!?

Dude! I totally know the people in the pictures!
BoA, Jay Chou, and this one guy that I know sings Japanese. I think some where in his name there’s a “J” but he learned Japanese through his grandma I think…

I love Asian Pop. I find American pop music pathetic. Uneducated thugs like Lil Wayne and Akon are glorified and more popular than real talent. I love CPop artists like Jay Chou who write deeper lyrics and incorporated classical Chinese elements. KPop is just so very addictive(Tell me, tell me….I’ll stop). My main exposure to JPop is through anime and dramas but I also listen to the odd NEWS song now and then…

I loooooooooooove J-Rock so much. My faves are Sex Machineguns, Versailles and X-Japan! Soooo awesome! Sex Machineguns are so much fun, I could watch them all day!

January 8, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Yes, I was really into it back in HS. But now, I still do, to keep myself in the loop. At least I wouldn’t be left out if my friend ask me about DBSK’s new album etc. Not that I do it just for the sake of knowing, sometimes you’ll be surprise what they can come up with.
Korean drama OSTs are still the best, haha.. post-winter sonata fame. K-pop. BoA! Yesh! She improved a lot. I love Moon & Sunrise Jap Version.
C-pop, maybe not, rarely.
mostly j-pop and k-pop. Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru FTW! Great lyrics no doubt. I bet most of those who listen to First Love still remember the tune!
Yay! Lee Hom won! =_=; xD

I love all kinds of asian music. I personally think they put more meaning into their lyrics. I’m listening to Replay by Shinee right now and its got a really good beat to listen to… even though i don’t know what they’re saying most likely their lyrics going has a deep meaning to it. XD
January 8, 2009 at 11:32 am
the funny thing is that I do listen to a lot of Kpop, some Cpop and im NOT even Asian. I can repeat some words to a few songs and I know two songs in Chinese, Tong Hua is one of them, cant remember the other. I love Asian music! ^.^
-Pamela
Pamela, 1. Pamela ela 2…lol

I listen to a lot of J-rock which would be considered J-pop. It’s more of West meets East with a lot of UK influence. Favorite artist are ZONE, YUI, and The Brilliant Green. I haven’t turned on my radio in 9 years because yea everything is too much bass for me liking. Nothing better than seeing a band write their own songs and play their own instruments.
