Valentines Day has been a thorn in my side since I met my now husband…I am convinced it was never meant to be a good day for me. The last two I have spent the whole time with his parents….HOW romantic is that???

i saw russell peters in London on valentines day. twas very good.
I usually dont mind it, I usually work for my parents so…i get money out of it. so yay for commercialness

You tell them Jamie Rae! That was perfectly articulated! And I completely agree, it doesn’t have to be a day about romantic love.
I try to show the people I care about that I love them through subtle gestures, but grand gestures are nice too (and more obvious).

hmm…I thnk it really depends on who u are with at the time… because if your with the right person then it should feel like vday everyday
…however, it is nice to be able to have a day to show not just ur partner you love them but maybe family and close friends as well. Life’s short CELebrate while we can!

I voted “That was today” But I did know when it was. Honestly being single on Valentines day doesn’t hurt like it used to. I used to call it single awareness day also. But I’ve just gotten used to it. I just think of valentines day as a day to love everyone you know. Not just the person you’re in love with. Don’t make it the holiday that you make one person feel special. Make it a day where you can everyone you love and care for feel special. Thats how valentines day should really be celebrated.
Thats how I spent mine. I made everyone heart shaped cookies and texted everyone else I couldn’t get to saying, “Happy Valentines Day. I sincerely love and care for you”

i remember texting phil a few days earlier about how do i get out of going on a date with somebody.
so i ended up getting out of that date..and instead i went on a date with a different guy.
idunno. it was a good date, but it was kinda awkward at the same time. i actually really wanted to spend it with someone but….yeah, we don’t talk anymore and i really miss him much :/ i’m not really too into this holiday just cuz its too couple-y and i don’t understand why you can’t just love somebody every day. like why do you need to have valentines day be the day you show your love for somebody? strange.

I had a great time. My boyfriend flew home from London (he’s been studying abroad since September and wasn’t suppose to return until June) to surprise me on Valentine’s day.

I say bah humbug to valentines day-its a money maketing scheme from restaurants and the like to get money off of poor unsuspecting folks.
i for one vote for a boycot!!!! I went out and had dinner with my hubby to be on TH no less and opted out of the card sending, was a teeny bit jealous when I saw other other people getting stuff but I think in the light of the bigge pictues it wasn’t terribly necessay. besides I know I will get something randomly from him later…moving sucks! better that way. i ended up spending my valentines day with my in laws, parents and fiancee. much better!

i didn’t realize it was valentine’s day til my uncle said my brother was probably busy ’cause it was valentine’s day. I did have a nice dinner with my two aunts, two uncles, mom, and cousins though…

I didn’t do anything on Valentine’s Day either. It can be a special day, but if it isn’t and if I don’t spend it with someone, I’m not down for bashing it as a greeting card holiday. I’d rather not be bitter… =X
I asked some clients about their plans, and was touched when one said he was going to send flowers to his daughter, and another was going to spend it in Central Park with his nephew.

I voted “(*^_^*)”. Nothing to do with romance, but I just had a really enjoyable day, good meals, had a nice day at work… the whole ‘relationship’ thing never really crossed my mind. Oh, and I woke up to Up In Da Club, the final part (my 14th was America’s 13th). If that doesn’t make anyone happy, I don’t know what would.
…how was Wong Fu’s valentines day? Any burrito dating, I wonder?

I told my bf not to buy me anything, lol. So he didn’t. (: Unnecessary to be spending money on roses/chocolate/teddy bear.
PLUS, as my friend put it, you wouldn’t be original since other couples are doing special things for each other on this day. It’d be better if your bf/gf did something super awesomely romantic on a random day. =)
