Mankind has been lucky enough to experience some defining moments in history. The breathtakingly epic moments that will stand the test of time and forever be talked about in their legacy. We here at Wong Fu Productions have a seemingly simple life and I never thought we would be so fortunate as to spark one of these momentous…moments. It is truly a proud day for all of us. Before I get to it, let’s take a look at some other incredible moments in our history.
When man first set foot on the moon and opened the doors to space exploration

When the United States received it’s first African-American President
The Big Bang. I mean the K-Pop boyband. And Wonder Girls. When they enticed the western world (and Korea) with their catchy pop tunes and easily learnable dance moves.

When Ash and Pikachu were united on the journey of a lifetime to “Catch’em all!”
I know what you’re thinking right now. How does Wong Fu top the out-of-this-world grandeur of Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon. Or the historically revolutionary inauguration of Barack Obama. Or the wonderfully banging introduction of TOP and Yoobin. And lastly, how do you beat anything like the unbreakable bond of Pikachu and Ash? Like this:

Thomas Wong and Helen Ma of Wong Fu Productions’ The One Days: HK series
In case you guys don’t know…both Thomas and Helen were featured in two different shorts that we made in Hong Kong. You can watch Thomas in Two True. And Helen in The Spare and Dream Line. Although they both participated in the same project series, they never knew or met each other. I worked with Helen one summer and Thomas during winter years later. Currently, while Thomas studies in England, Helen is mostly in Canada. But one day I got a message in my inbox and I saw this amazingness. The two met through a mutual friend in England. And with that, the angels cried. Okay okay, so maybe it doesn’t beak Ash and Pika but I thought it was pretty cool. And if it still doesn’t impress you, just be happy for two goodlooking people standing next to each other in a photo. haha.

For me, Wong Fu hasn’t really brought me closer to people per se, but I have a story. Last year, when I heard you guys were going to Brooklyn Tech High School, I freaked out because I graduated from there. The timing was perfect too because I just graduated from college a couple months prior to the event. I always wanted to go back, but I could never find a compelling reason to visit since everyone I knew was long gone. Plus, I was afraid about returning without any real accomplishments on my belt. So, this was like a divine sign, and I knew I couldn’t pass up this oppportunity.
On the day of the event I gushed over how everything looked the same yet different. I basically acted like a giddy dork, pointing at stores and saying, “OMG! This place is still here!?!” I even got to dine at the nearby restaurants that I was too poor to afford back in high school.
Entering the building was amazing too because my friend was greeted by her HS teacher, Mr. Williams, who said “Welcome back.”
Thanks to your event, I was able to relive old memories, and do things I was never able to do in HS.
Sorry for the long comment.

You made it sound so epic, I thought that the two were going to get married or something.
Even though it wasn’t what I expected, the end was pretty darn amusing, ahahaha.

I haven’t met anyone NEW with Wongfu .
but WongFu were surely some conversation starters !
And with the help of wongfu i’ve been better friends with this person that i’ve met for like a decade O_o! Every time the other person is feeling sad or in a tough situation . Our first advice to each other is “go and watch some of wongfu!” It might not exactly solve the problem but it makes us smile , or like a virtual pat on the back .

That’s cool! I like when stuff like that happens. Here’s a cool little connection that I came across was after watching Up in da club. I recoginized Chris Dinh from a music video that was produced by Charles Yi for a song by Big Phony called “Girls Like You Don’t Go For Guys Like Me”. I had met Big Phony (Bobby) a few months ago at a wedding for my good friends Koo Chung and Jinny Kim (both independent music artists on the East Coast). Also, I found out that Big Phony has done shows in LA with Karin Anna Chung (a friend of a friend from back in high school) and Tatum Jones..ISA artist. It’s awesome how everything is connected. I swear, the asian-american community is tight-knit.

hey cool. they are two very good looking people. So does that mean they are talking with each other? Or that they got to meet even though they live really far away from each other. Its pretty odd that they didn’t meet through you wes. Btw I like how you built it up XD
