I’m going to high5 Philip for blogging about our tour and pretty much everything these past few days weeks. Virtual high5. He doesn’t deserve a real life high5 for that. Maybe if he saved a bunch of baby seals from poachers. Maybe.
I’m gonna diverge from our usual subject of “what we’ve been up to” to some fan art. I love animation. Hand-drawn, 3D, stop-motion, you name it. Here’s an awesome video from our friend, Casey, who we met at Cameron House in SF. Domo and Toon Spencer! Looks like it’s going to be a series so I can’t wait for the next one!
Also…here’s something I made for class…a lot of years ago at UCSD. Not sure if this is where Casey got the idea to use Domo-Kun, but it’s cool that we both did.
I wouldn’t mind doing another stop-motion animation project except the fact that it takes foreverz to make. Yea that’s a sorta bummer. We’ll see…

i saw that video. I thought it was so cute. And your desktop fun animation is one of my favorite videos to watch online. I was working on one myself. But someone at home touched/moved the camera and it messed me up. I should try to do it again.

whoaa, looks like a lot of time spent for sure. do you remember how long it took you to make “desktop fun”? including all the filming and editing

haha awesome! – there’s something about Domo-Kun that always puts a smile on my face – maybe it’s the sharp pointy teeth >:D
I love watching stop motion films – really inspiring. I can’t even begin to imagine how much time it must take. A virtual high5 to you!

Haha dude Wes, this is freaking awesome. Thank you so much , I’m actually pretty speechless that you really did post this. and you are completely right! The Desktop Fun & Gokuri Difference videos actually gave me the inspiration with my friend. I remember watching it two years ago wondering… how the heck did he do that. Then I found out how much work it took and I dreaded it. hahaha. thanks again Wes!

Wow, it really does require a lot of patience.
I just googled “how to make a stop-motion short,”
maybe one day I’ll try it…
btw, both were reallly good!

Heh. That was pretty cool. I tried making stop motion once, spent four hours filming, thinking I’d get at least two minutes of footage… only a minute thirty seconds. Then spent 8 hours editing. All by myself. Goooood (and tiring) times.
Virtual high fives all round!
