Voting has officially started on the JCPenney “Schooled in Style” Breakout Performer contest! I’ll be honest, when we first opened up the contest, I was a little worried we wouldn’t get enough submissions since there was only a 2 week window, but we ended up getting over 40 submissions and so many of them were just amazing. The 10 videos with the most views after that first 2 week round of viewing are now on the ballot for YOUR vote. It’s up to you to determine the Top 5, from which FarEast Movement and us will choose the grand prize winner, who will get to come to the upcoming ISA concert and perform on stage for the audience! Click on for a quick “cliffnotes” guide to the 10 video entries to help you vote.
-Clara Chung – Wow, great voice AND she plays like 5 different instruments (her pulling out the flute was pure awesomeness)
-James Ha – Probably one of the more unique videos on the ballot. Singing and using his BODY as a percussion instrument to “beatbox” along.
-James Pham – showing off his popping skills… definitely way better than me.
-Trent Ellingsen – one of 2 videos submitted involving FIRE! This one is just to crazy though. I was undeniably shocked when I saw this as a submission. Very cool, i mean, hot.
-Evan Lian – Got the nifty multi-track multi-video thang going on. Plus, I’m a sucker for Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated” haha.
-Joseph Villarroel – I gotta admit, this guy is the most G out of them all. The file of his submission was titled “dancing with no fear” and he definitely has no fear and I respect that. Plus, he really does have some good moves in various styles. Keep dancing buddy.
-Eliel Lyn Sagansay – super sweet and original song. JCPenney should definitely hire her or buy this song off her, it’s so catchy, and makes me wanna go shop at JCP.
-Jenton Lee – Requirement was to wear something bought from JCP. He chose boxers. He wins just off “cool points” to me.
-Laura Lee – beautiful singing and cool style. Makes me wanna practice piano.
-Chris Ocampo – I tweeted about this one actually. Not really magic, more like “ball handling skills” if magic were basketball. Very impressive, and unique…I didn’t even know this “talent” was really out there. A must watch.
Hope that helps guide you through. If you’re bored at work or school (which for some has started), definitely kill some time on those videos…just be sure to have your headphones on. =P

I agree with Keith, awhile ago I was looking to see if WongFu had video son iTunes but I was disappointed to find out you guys don’t! I got an iPod recently and it has video capability…I was thinking, what would really be worth buying on iTunes for the video feature? and I thought, WFP VIDEOS DUH. So yeah vblogs can be podcasts, and you should put up the shorts (esp yellow fever and give and take, to name a few) =D

This competition is over. ClaraC for the WIN!
Why isn’t Wong Fu Videos on iTunes? I’d rather pay for iTunes rather than having the DVD mailed over. The vblogs can be video podcasts. It’s another way of generating income. I’m pretty sure you guys will sell out.

Evan Lian you got my vote for having a cool voice and being cute haha.
The fire poi is one of those ones that has an amazing appearance on stage, while the parlor tricks are kind of lost, even with the huge screens. But still amazing.

Voting discrepancies all right, when I voted, there was one at like 70,000 votes or something. Freakin’ ridiculous.
Trent Ellingsen got my vote. Really talented, and more importantly, would look awesome on stage at ISA. Some of those other acts wouldn’t have same effect when performed live to a massive audience.

JAMES HAAAAAAAAAAA!!

I don’t think it’s a fair fight. The person at the top will get most votes because people don’t usually watch all the videos all the way through.
You need to mix the videos up a bit occasionally so someone else is at the top.

Too bad we don’t have a JCPenny in England
Great clothes!!
