When you buy any item from our online store a portion of the proceeds will go to charity. At the end of every month we will donate the money earned to charities that help make the world a better place.
Why are we doing this:
We try to create video content with positive messages through WongFuProductions.com and with our Nice Guy Design brand. We know we can only do so much, this is why we’ve deiced to donate a portion of the proceeds from our online store to charities that actually impact and make this world a better place.
How can we do this:
We are by no means rich, but we feel the need to contribute because of the failing economy less and less people are donating to charities. Just a little can make a big difference.
Hi Everyone, we’re very proud to be donating a percentage of the proceeds earned through our T-Shirts and other merchandise to causes that actually impact and make a real difference in a person’s life. Let us know which charities you think we should donate to by commenting!

James – Tzu Chi is certainly not a scam and has nothing to do with that email. Nigerian criminals use a wide variety of legitimate organizations’ names in order to get victims to send money via Western Union. Legitimate charities would never ask for donations via Western Union. That is a no brainer. If you do a thorough search on the internet, you will find that Tzu Chi is very highly respected and does great work.

Well according to the Utah department of commerce, the Tzu Chi charity is a scam? I am not sure if this is true. I want to donate to the Taiwan typhoon but I don’t know which one to donate to and the taiwan red cross donation site makes my head spin.

It would be great if you could donate to the Typhoon Morakot Relief for Taiwan. Typhoon Morakot has devastated a lot of Southern Taiwan and many families are left without homes. It’s very sad.
Tzu Chi Foundation is definitely an organization to donate to. They have been doing a lot for the typhoon relief and have helped out globally as well for other relief efforts, such as the Sichuan Earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, and much more. http://www.us.tzuchi.org

What about Summer Search?
It’s a leadership program that helps low-income, at-risk students achieve their best – academically, socially, personally – through the guidance of caring mentors and life changing experiences.
As someone who has gone through this program, I can say first-hand that Summer Search has helped me grow into an altruistic, resilient, and compassionate person. I’m thankful to be the kind of person I am today, and I couldn’t be here without my SS mentors and the people I’ve met along the way.
You can find out more here: http://www.summersearch.org/ and if you would like to know more about my own experience, please feel free to email me.
Thanks for giving back to the community, guys. I know that you work your butts off doing what you do, but you still think about others who are in need. I hope you consider Summer Search as a nonprofit to donate to and make a difference in kids’ lives!

Hey
I remember a while ago I Kevjumba this suggestion, but I don’t think he really saw it but hopefully this idea will allow people to get interested into new ways to help out the world
“So I was just thinking that you might be able to expand from the charities and help out Lesser Developed Countries develop through websites such as http://www.kiva.org.
The main concept of http://www.kiva.org is micro-financing, so you can loan money out to people who are trying to support their business’. For example, you could loan someone 20$ (I believe) and more so they can use the money to help with their agriculture, clothing store, general store, food store, and etc. And then the person you loaned to will slowly pay back your money.
This way, the money in the account can be redistributed to another person and even withdrawn so you could use the money to donate to another charity in the future.
This was an interesting site my Econ teacher showed me this past year, and from watching your blogs I thought it might be of some interest to you. So I hope you take this into consideration since this is something new that many people haven’t heard of, and it’d be nice to spread the word about it
”
)
(I just copy and pasted it since I wrote most of the basic stuff, and the “watching your blogs” portion can also be used towards Wongfu
At my school, we’re actually going to start a club this year
and we’re hoping it’ll be successful. So hopefully people find this comment helpful, and propose this idea or similar ones around too!
Thanks for you time =)

Hi Guys,
I think it’s wonderful you are giving back to the community around you through your online sales. May I suggest “Asian Pacific Islander American Vote”? We encourage political participation of AAPIs at all levels through educating our community (workshops/conferences), driving the messaging about our political power (through media relations and communications within the community), research/policy (showing how our vote makes an impact, promoting policies that keep access to democracy open), and field work (running voter registration campaigns nationwide through our community partners).
I hope you consider APIAVote, but I know there are many great causes out there to support. Keep up the GREAT work!

If you can think of which charity what about sponsor a child in rural countries?
August 23, 2009 at 8:13 am
Not technically a ‘charity’ I suppose, but local orphanages are always in need of donations and it’s a really good cause.
August 23, 2009 at 5:05 am
it’d also be great to make a difference locally!
Homeboy Industries
“Nothing Stops a Bullet Like a Job”
http://www.homeboy-industries.org/index.php
they’ve been on the local news recently & they’ve Homegirl Cafe in Chinatown LA (next to the Gold Line). great organization that helps former gang members get back on their feet.
August 23, 2009 at 4:39 am
Invisible Children’s a great one, and definitely to the Tzu Chi Foundation’s fund for helping those affected by Typhoon Morakot. Tzu Chi is a relief fund set up by Buddhists. I’m not Buddhist myself, but I think all the work they’ve done is great.

Education Through Music – LA…maybe.
