Remember the interview CNN did of us a few months ago? At long last it has finally been completed and released online. No Anderson Cooper 360, but I think this is still a pretty significant deal no? =P We have our own commentary of the piece (which we think is GREAT and really really well done [prob one of the best press pieces done about us, but it's freaking CNN so I guess that makes sense]), but I hafta get ready for our first ticket tour tour in Hacienda Heights which starts at 2pm. I hear there’s already ppl lining up. Man, we’re on CNN. Please pass this link along to spread the word http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/showbiz/2009/08/15/rowlands.wong.fu.productions.cnn

By the way, in the video they said you guys make money through selling merchandises and tours. Why not make commercial videos starring the youtube stars? An interesting commercial gets alot of hit too.

Now I am not sure who is the mainstream media and who is the minorstream.
February 14, 2010 at 11:17 am
That was awesome! Congrats! I’m so glad that you guys are getting more exposure from mainstream media and getting your message out there. I really appreciate what you guys do in representing yourselves and other Asian Americans who are ignored or stereotypically portrayed in mainstream. With youtubers such as yourselves, Kevin Wu, David Choi, Christine Gambito, Ryan Higa, Quest, etc. we are moving closer and closer to breaking down racial barriers within America. Don’t stop doing what you do!

You guys are great!! I saw you at UOP in 2009 and can’t wait to meet up and mingle again. I hope everything is running smoothly. I’m usually up to date on your videos but I had NO IDEA you had a CNN interview. Congratulations!! Hopefully next time you meet I can chat with you guys and get some hints for my own videography work. Stay inspirational.

Amazing!! Congratulations on your hard work. I had just gone into college the year you guys started productions (actually went to the same college as y’all). A few years later, one of my sociology classes played the short where “bai ren kan bu dong”…lol. This is so inspiring!!…and…I should have networked with you guys in college, haha. Kudos on the true portrayals of Asian-Americans.

Ok well if ya wanna email me some updates of your stuff that’d be cool anyways
- Just in case my last post gets moderated to death -
You are indeed a talented bunch and here in the UK im one the suckers that saw the interview an got interested from that….so expect and enjoy a success sprial from that lol
Im a script writer and comic writer who has interests in Asia and Asian culture (not one whose worth getting excited over) but the futures bright, the futures….yellow.
Hahahahahahaa….true that, tue that.
Take it easy y’all.
August 16, 2009 at 10:57 am
Yeah I gotta say that I’m a sheep too….saw ya on CNN an cool stuff I’m another independant wannabe asian artist type character – But half latin half brittish in the UK…(went to college an had a mate for a year who thought I was chinese – freakin idiot)
But yeah you guys are talented an hopefully one day you’ll read my comics and I’ll be like “hey lets go make a kick ass movie!”
….Or summat like that…generally white people suck, I aint working with those bastards…(just joking, ya fine uncle tom and your healthcare doesnt suck either, and nobody hates you….carry on.)
For great justice!!!1
August 16, 2009 at 10:06 am
Heyyyy! The log in feature started working again.
This is pretty awesome guys. You can already see it’s paying off with new fans. Nothin’ wrong with that. WF NGs on CNN. Yeaya.
August 16, 2009 at 9:47 am
Finaly a US channel speaks about you! It’s kind of a payback for what a crappy channel did to FM. Now i believe that with your appearance on CNN will make people get to know FM too because MTV ignored em’. I hope all of you guys have a good luck doing what your doing and reach the top always humble!
hehe. I’m not asian but ppl say I’m Blackanese cuz my eyes look alike a bit and i love asian culture. I’ve been folowing you guys since i seen you names at HappySlip’s Rollercoaster. The first video of your’s i seen was “See Through” and from there you become my inspiration…
I’m from Portugal and what you guys do is my dream since I was 12 years old. This year I’m going to college and follow what i enjoy to do and later maybe I’ll start a small productions enterprise. I just hope i have so much luck like you! Maybe one day in the furure we could do a collab work
August 16, 2009 at 8:44 am
Congrats! Looking forward to more great shorts.
August 16, 2009 at 5:04 am
It’s always neat to watch you guys continue to develop and further your works. It really makes you wonder where you guys might be in 5 or 10 years time. Will Wong Fu continue to expand with more people, and turn into a full-scale company? Branch out from music videos and short films? Whatever happens, just don’t go capitalistic and loose sight of your values and why you started this in the first place.
August 16, 2009 at 4:18 am
@Darica wow thank you! We are really glad you enjoyed what we’ve done so far, hopefully bigger and better things to come.
August 16, 2009 at 2:16 am
