It’s not that Its just us kids are smart an hit the richer nabborhoods I am mostly drage along trick or treating wih my little sister but if I have a vampire costume and my friends by my side I’m cool I guess

Halloween this year was really depressing considering how wonderfully colorful it used to be, I mean I live on one of the main streets in my very, very, small town and usually my family has had to have some of us waiting in the car waiting for when the bowl would run out. I still remember when the houses were dressed in cobwebs, spiders, wicked witches of the east and west, but this year it was so still and silent that when the wind blew and some of the older houses gave a creek it was, for the first time, creepy. When the sun was just setting is when the little kids came out and a little later there were a few older kids but that was it and we had almost the entire bowl left. Later that night some ladies came around with plastic bags in one hand and a stroller handle in the other. I do blame the economy but I also know that most of the kids are older and in high school so they were all out somewhere or working on a research project which every English class had except for AP lit. (AP lit had an essay due and everyone in that class procrastinates). It’s sad but true.

I honestly don’t remember the last time I went trick-or-treating before this year, so I can’t say much about the crowd. This year I went in costume with my little nephews. The younger one is 1 yo, so when he got too tired to walk to the door (he stayed with my sister) I’d trick or treat for him.

Fortunately, no one seemed to notice how old I was (will be 24 soon ahahah). I’m guessing I can still pass for under 18?

So this year my friends and I planned to go trick or treating. but we ran out of time and all of the houses stopped giving out candy around 10 pm. X(. The whole reason why it took so long is because my friends had asked me to make a full course meal for halloween but it took longer than expected to make 8 different dishes when I started at 7 pm. XP So that was mostly my fault there. I should have left earlier from work.

But as for trick or treaters coming to my house. Ever since I moved to my house in ’97 we’ve only gotten about 10 trick or treaters. My house is located in a court so not many people think about going into the dark and scary court at night. Plus one year when we did go all out. And decorated the house and got in costumes to scare on coming trick or treaters we scared the little kids a little too much. No purposely though.

But the main real reason why I think no one wants to take their kids or let their kids go out and get candy is:
1. Most parents come home from a long day at work and want to rest.
2. With all the kidnapping, killing, pedophiles and stuff out there parents don’t want to endanger their children.
3. With how the economy is going right now some people are trying to just cut corners where ever they can
4. And lastly, a lot of the kids now are too lazy to go out and get stuff on their own. Most of them learned the trick to getting candy without having to get out and get it. Which is convince the parents that they should give out candy and then take the candy from that. XP

Haha ur dad sounds like a typical asian parent like my mom
she always tell my family to turn off the lights and ignore the bells.
HEHE but anyways even if my lights were on, no one came to ask candy. How sad :[

Yeah. i was excited to give out candy and see all the cute costumes kids had on but nobody would come into our neighborhood since we were the only house with the lights on and handing out candy. We only had like 6 families come by, including my little cousin. haha Its so sad to see that not many people are participating in Halloween anymore. =[

Yeaahh.
It’s like Halloween is not a big deal anymore
My friend and I went trick-or-treating…not because we wanted to, but because it was apart of this picture scavenger hunt, and candy was extra points anyways, It used to be really fun when I was a kid.
Hahhaa omgsh my parents do the exact same thing! Hilarious.
