After 2.5 weeks running around Asia, I’m back in my room at my computer wishing I could still be in the precise moment captured in the picture above. Actually there are two things I missed about America while I was gone… unlimited napkins whenever I wanted them, and drink refills. For the most part, the 4 cities we went to in Asia had neither. Otherwise…yeah everything in Asia is better. haha. Oh, the third thing I missed was you all of courrrssse…yeaaaay. =P haha. For serious though, it’s very very nice to have internet right at my fingertips, and a cellphone, all of which keep us connected to you.
But yes, it was an amazing, very meaningful trip wedged between two big seasons; closing out an incredible summer, and beginning a very busy upcoming Autumn. Not sure if I’ll get around to doing a big recap, since there’s so much to cover. From being crowded in the streets of Tokyo, to riding elephants in Thailand, and food food FOOD, a lot happened out there.
It was really hot in Thailand, as my contorted uncomfortable face here shows.
This is why I like to ride my bike whenever I can…I imagine that I’m this kid weaving through the busy streets of Shanghai
I feel like this picture sums up the vacation. Hotel lobby, a cool drink, and shades.
more to come…
Hope you all make it out of your town/state/country sometime soon to do some traveling here and there. There’s so much to see in the world. Funny how the two things I missed about America (napkins and refills) are both related to waste and over-consumption. The American way! haha.

Please post some more pictures from your trip. I bet I’m not the only one who wants to see them! Can’t wait to see some adventures ^_^ What did you like the most about Thailand?
October 11, 2009 at 11:55 am
I went to HK, Shanghai, Tokyo and Bangkok as well! I went during the summer and it was pretty epic. The only thing I hated was getting robbed in Thailand, but at least no one got hurt.
=) ASIA ROCKS!

October 3, 2009 at 3:41 am
the banana boat!!! did the driver purposely make a sharp turn and flip everyone over? the best part is hopping the ripples of the ocean on that thing and standing up!

Mr3D; there was a bit of a change in the RSS feed. If anyone’s got an RSS feed from the HALO OSDT post or earlier, that’s when it messed up, just need to refresh the RSS to the slightly adjusted new one, worked for me. Just assume they haven’t updated the front page’s RSS yet.

OMG. NAPKINS. SO TRUE. It’s a good thing that people in Tokyo/Singapore/etc give away tissue packets though (:

that banana boat thing is one of the most fun things i have been on.
looks almost similar to the one i was on when i was in thailand. (same one perhaps?)
did you guys ride it in koi samui?
October 2, 2009 at 10:02 am
Looks like fun.
TED deserves it. He’s been working hard to the bone with everything- including the promo with the stickers and having to send them out and stuff.
October 2, 2009 at 4:59 am
YAY REFILLS!
Only place in New Zealand that get them are Burger King and Subway. Then again, we don’t have things like tipping and tax is included in the price (which apparently David Choi found really awesome in Korea).
Good to hear you guys are back, even better that you had fun.
Does this mean Ted’s in the running for Employee of the YEAR!?
October 2, 2009 at 4:43 am
LOL Yay for Ted. I wasn’t aware you guys had employee of the month awards, how exciting. Sounds like you had a blast in Asia and nice save with the 3rd thing you missed by the way. =P Anyway glad to hear your vacation was epic.
