Are we old? We made “Yellow Fever” before YouTube was even around…
Today we released “Yellow Fever” onto our official YouTube channel. “Wait, Yellow Fever is already on youtube isn’t it? What’s the big deal?” Ahh, yes you are correct, but the funny thing is, none of the videos floating around youtube was uploaded by us. Most likely, the one you first saw was uploaded by some random guy! It’s kind of sad, our two most popular shorts (Yellow Fever and Just a Nice Guy) aren’t even on our current channel. Why? Because we didn’t even really start using the WongFuProductions channel until around 2008. Before then we were using other channel names, or just using YouTube as an upload/player tool. And shoot, when we were first making videos, YouTube didn’t even exist! So when we released Yellow Fever 4 years ago, we didn’t think it was necessary to make a channel and upload it there. Instead, fans who downloaded the short directly from our site did, and luckily a fan made the WongFuProductions channel in 2007 and graciously gave it to us when we realized that we should probably start using YouTube more seriously.
And so now, 4 years later, we’re finally putting it up on our channel. Yeah, we missed out of millions of views going straight to us, but better late than never. So we need your help. From now on, if you want to share “Yellow Fever” with a friend or someone who’s never heard of us, please use the version that’s on our channel.
Can’t believe it’s only been 4 years. Feels like it’s been much much longer, but I guess it’s because a lot has changed in that time…
Never woulda thought this video, and the other earlier ones would’ve lead up to the things we’re doing now. crazy.
BLOOPERS!

4 years???!!! wow. We watched Yellow Fever in my ethnic studies class. It was literally on the syllabus and we had a half hour discussion about the video and it’s truths/assumptions and stereotypes and my prof asked us if the video was somewhat true.

Thanks for the blooper reel!
It sure looked like a lot of fun for everybody making and taking part in the film.
Yellow Fever was also the first ting I saw on YouTube. The second thing was Shoes by Kelly. My sister showed me those in 2006 (June), and the next time I went on youtube must have been in 2007.
Anyway, congratulations on the fun and success!
January 28, 2010 at 10:09 pm

January 28, 2010 at 6:16 pm
“Yellow Fever” was the first thing I ever saw that was put out by you guys. When I saw it, it was in parts, and I with my old computer at the time, it took a long time to load. However, it was fun and entertaining enough to draw me in, and once I found your official YouTube page, I gladly subscribed. Now, with the bloopers shown here, I’m even more in love with this piece. I gladly favorited it on Youtube.
I love what you guys do, and impressed by your generosity as well. (Awkward Turtle). Once I get mine from the mail, I’m certainly going to make a thank-you video.
