A little delayed with this post, but wanted to share. CCM (California College of Music) recently posted some pics from our shoot there in December. Check out the article here (link).
Remember the behind the scenes clip we showed of all the kids and David Choi singing Taylor Swift songs? We shot that scene at CCM which is located in LA, Pasadena to be exact. Very cool spot to study if any of you out there are aspiring musicians. Actually… how many of you are musicians? What do you play?
I’m gonna go out on a limb, and guess that Piano is gonna win. Personally I play piano, guitar and violin (if 2 yrs in elementary school count)
We’re excited to be returning to CCM to finish up shooting in early March. Maybe I’ll stop by for an extra lesson on the side.
UPDATE: 2/19
I’m really surprised that Flute/Clarinet beat Violin. What?! Even guitar beat violin? Our readers always surprise me. =)

I do classical singing, started to learn piano, and knows how to play a double-chambered Alto-C ocarina (weird ethnic instruments? XD).

Trumpet! Always wanted to learn Flute, Clarinet (but my sisters wouldn’t let me use their instruments), piano, and guitar. Oh well, maybe one day I’ll get to branch out.
I have been playing the trumpet since the sixth grade in 1998/1999. I played all throughout middle and high school. Marching, Symphonic, and Jazz band. I was too busy in college to play in the marching band there. Now that I have graduated and taking graduate courses, I have a little more time and have joined our community band. My brother (plays the trumpet, I’m using his still so he had to borrow one) and two sisters (one plays flute, the other plays clarinet) have joined the band as well. It is a great way for all four of us to do something together. It is supposed to be dorky to be in the band, but at my school it was cool to be in the band, we made it that way. You guys are great and Love ya! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

February 18, 2010 at 9:36 am
Self-taught piano and guitar.
I never count violin as one since it was way back in middle school.
February 18, 2010 at 3:05 am
Learned to play piano from my brother’s teacher a couple years ago, but I don’t play anymore so now I play flute. ^^ (Next best thing right? *cough*)
February 18, 2010 at 2:04 am
I’ve been playing piano for about nine years now…
… and I’ve attempted to teach myself guitar, for the past month.
February 22, 2010 at 1:48 pm

February 17, 2010 at 11:59 pm
I’ve been playing piano (like many asians) for 7 years, guitar for about 2, and ukulele for about 3 months. :O
February 17, 2010 at 11:45 pm
i hope guitar hero (using the controller) counts.haha!
i have no musical talent, but i’m planning to learn the guitar.. goodluck with that.. =)
February 17, 2010 at 11:04 pm
I’m so musically untalented. I have no rhythm, can’t move to the beat of a song (I can spaz and DDR I guess but I don’t consider that really something you want to do in public like at a club), and a complete and utter failure at Rockband/Guitar Hero. I’ve had a guitar for as long as I can remember and I have no idea how to play it. I fail as an Asian. I failed David Choi….
February 17, 2010 at 10:35 pm
i chose martial arts over the musical arts…. lol
ok well not entirely. I used to do some Chinese Lion dancing as a kid and was taught how to play most of the instruments involved for it. Played a lot of drums/percussions – taiko, djembe, bongos, cymbals, gongs for over 2 yrs, and xylophone for bout 2 months… but in the end I chose Martial arts practice over my music so it ended there…thanks for reminding me i’m not musically talented. But will give piano and uke a chance some time soon.
February 17, 2010 at 9:50 pm
i play the piano, guitar, viola and just got a ukulele! its so much fun
February 17, 2010 at 9:48 pm

I played violin for…at least 4 years.
Anddd…now I’m trying to take up guitar.
February 17, 2010 at 9:45 pm
Alto saxophone (5 years), guitar (3 years including bass guitar), marching snare drum (corps style) [2 years or so?]. Others I can play, but not well include, piano, trombone, flute and clarinet.
February 17, 2010 at 9:44 pm
12 years of piano! =) and still playing.
February 17, 2010 at 9:40 pm
I took first year piano (Music 41A) at PCC during fall and for spring I have Vocal Techniques. :] Couldn’t fit Music 41B into my spring schedule
February 17, 2010 at 9:36 pm
I play guitar, violin, and ukulele. I know how to play piano, but I don’t really practice. I love singing too
Hope to be some sort of female Jason Mraz or Jack Johnson. Like Colbie Caillat, I guess
February 17, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Dude, angklung. never heard of it? its traditional indonesian music instrument made out of bamboo.
February 17, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Piano, Saxophone, and a little bit of drums and guitar for me.
With a large Asian fanbase, you’re bound to get a lot of piano and string players. Clarinet and flute is pretty popular with Asians as well.
February 17, 2010 at 9:33 pm
I took piano for a little bit when I was little, don’t really remember much now and I played clarinet for 7 years. I was in marching band haha.
February 17, 2010 at 9:27 pm
I played the piano and the flute when I was younger. Now I play with chopsticks on a plate. I’m lucky if I get the food near my mouth…haha.
February 17, 2010 at 9:26 pm
Piano, flute, piccolo, clarinet, trumpet, french horn, violin, cello, a little bit of drums and guitar………….and mallets.
I play any instrument you can think of.:) I took lessons for EVERY instrument possible.
I am a super asian. I miss you guys!:) By the way, I wish I was a better singer!
February 17, 2010 at 7:37 pm
the ukulele!! haha
yes ima loser and i dont play the guitar..but there’s a reason. i have insanely short fingers…you’re probably thinking yea right…. from the line at the end of my palm to the tip of my fingers its only 6 1/2 inches..or less and thats on my longer fingered hand. yupp my left hand is bigger than my right cuz i play the cello. anyways short fingers keep me from playing the guitar…my fingers can only stretch so much. ive pulled muscles on my fingers like a million times cuz of playing the piano and cello. i feel like i just wrote an essay or something…just avoiding hw haha
February 17, 2010 at 7:22 pm
I tried to play the piano as a kid, but gave up quickly (which I now very much regret and want to learn) and I’m teaching myself how to play guitar (unsuccessfully). I think I need someone to show me.
February 17, 2010 at 5:24 pm
Piano and Trumpet FTW!
February 17, 2010 at 1:33 pm
geez, guys! thanks for reminding me!
February 17, 2010 at 12:13 pm

February 17, 2010 at 9:13 am

February 17, 2010 at 9:09 am
i used to play clarinet. then i moved onto piano and now, a little bit of guitar and does singing count ? haha
February 17, 2010 at 8:48 am
I took viola lessons from 3rd grade to 7th. I was AWFUL! I quit at the beginning of 8th grade because I was so bad that they seated me in the last row, behind the 6th graders, who had much less years of experience than me. FAIL :[
February 17, 2010 at 8:29 am
I learned how to play clarinet and piano when I was growing up. But I don’t think I’m really good or anything. Later picked up a guitar and currently learning to play the ukelele. XD. My new years resolution was to learn a new instrument this year, so I chose the ukelele. I’d love to learn other instruments and also get back into clarinet and piano again.
Can’t wait to see the video you guys made over there. Sounds exciting! XD
February 17, 2010 at 8:12 am
My instrument is my voice! It requires all the training, discipline, and practice that any other instrument demands. It’s great because I don’t have to lug any gear around (haha!)
February 17, 2010 at 7:00 am
I took piano lessons for 13 years (I recently quit), and I took violin for two years in middle school. xD
I picked up guitar at church, watching other people play and playing with them.
February 17, 2010 at 6:16 am
i played the piano for about ten years. i started when i was around 6 years old and quit when i was 16 or 17, when i became a junior in High School. I can still read the notes and play them though.
February 17, 2010 at 3:49 am
I played Piano for a semester in HS but I really sucked… >.<
February 17, 2010 at 3:15 am
used to play piano too.
unless vocal chords now count as instruments, i don’t play any.
February 17, 2010 at 2:49 am
Chopsticks on a plate, but other than that, zero talent.
February 17, 2010 at 2:46 am
I used to play piano but now I have no musical talent
