So this past week Wes, myself and a group of friends took a short vacation to Hawaii, Oahu to be exact, hence the bit of inactivity on the blog here. We had a great time, we did try and shoot a little bit for this week’s WFWeekend, but it was really any good footage. Just me and wes, talking. Boring. haha. We were sorta on vacation mode so maybe that’s why we didn’t get anything good. Not to say that Hawaii wasn’t BEAUTIFUL and AWESOME, I think we were just having too much of a good time that WFW took a back seat. haha.
Oahu is known to be more of the touristy island, but we didn’t mind it…since we were in fact, tourists. We went to a lot of different beaches, more secluded ones to get away from said tourists. Up to North Shore, Sunset Beach, Kailua. Stayed in Waikiki, went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. Ate at the shrimp trucks, got shaved ice (not from Matsumoto’s, since our local friends said it was over hyped). It was a great trip and definitely needed after all the work we’ve been doing.

Vacation-mode-Wes
The trip was pretty lowkey, in the sense that we didn’t really blog about us going, but we receive a lot of comments and messages about asking us to visit Hawaii from the fans. So we knew that if we went and didn’t say anything, we’d be in trouble with y’all. So on our last day, we held a very impromptu meet&greet on Waikiki Beach outside our hotel. It was very last minute (just tweeted and facebooked it 2 hrs in advance) and very casual. We were expecting like, 3 ppl to show up… but about 40 locals made the time to say hi in the 1 hr window. It meant a lot to see them come out. They even brought leis! Here’s a few pics.
Anyway, definitely will return to Hawaii in the future, hopefully can check out the other islands. Until then, aloha and mahalo =)
