“The Sound Guy”
Hi everyone! My name is Sam Bay and I currently intern at Wong Fu Productions as an editor (although I also enjoy doing sound, behind-the-scenes, wong-fu weekends, etc).
Most of you probably have no idea who I am and where I came from so I will give a very brief background on how I ended up at Wong Fu Productions and how working with Phil, Wes and Ted (though it has not been that long), has been such a awesome experience.
After I graduated from U.C.S.D., I started looking for any and every media-related opportunity that I could to satisfy my constant desire to do something fun and creative with the camera. This led me to shoot wedding videos for about a year and it was during this time that I applied to intern at Wong Fu Productions. To be honest, I was not sure what to expect when I first starting helping out on set and interacting with them but it didn’t take long for me to conclude this: Phil, Wes and Ted are very nice guys.
What I have appreciated most about working at WFP for about a year now is the fact that I get to work in an environment where we can have fun, laugh and hang out without compromising the desire and attitude necessary to produce quality content.
It’s crazy to think that Wong Fu Productions is now 10 years old and I know for a fact that they have a lot of things they can look back on and be proud of. There are countless videos, accolades, rewards and experiences that Wong Fu has compiled in the past ten years but for me personally, I’m just glad that those things have not changed the core of who Phil, Wes and Ted are. I’m thankful that even though all three of them have so much more experience and talent than I do, they still treat me as a peer and care to show concern for my own growth. They even celebrated my birthday and got me presents (which included a nerf gun! ).
I feel very blessed and fortunate to be able to interact with and work at Wong Fu Productions. I have nothing but respect for Phil, Wes and Ted and I hope the past ten years only fuels them to push forward to bigger and greater things.
